Grant Application Guidelines
The C. Bascom Slemp Foundation is a private foundation created under the will of the late C. Bascom Slemp, a former U. S. Congressman from Virginia. Grants are made exclusively for charitable and educational purposes that will benefit the residents of Lee and Wise Counties, Virginia.
Grant should be submitted to the Slemp Foundation. The proposed request will then be made an agenda item at the appropriate meeting of the Trustees of The Slemp Foundation.
- Name, address, and telephone number of the organization; any national organization with which affiliated; and dates each were established.
- A copy of the Internal Revenue Service letter qualifying the organization as tax exempt under Code Section 501(c).
- Purposes and activities of the organization, services provided, to whom, and how many served per year.
- Names of administrative officers and governing board of the organization.
- A copy of the organization’s most recent balance sheet and annual operating statement.
- Percentage of budget received from other sources.
- Percentage of costs of organization paid for by recipients.
- Purposes for which a grant from the C. Bascom Slemp Foundation would be used. How it would specifically benefit residents of Lee and Wise Counties, Virginia.
- If the purpose is a specific project, what is the budget for the project?
